AIKEN, S.C.---Four people are in an Aiken hospital after an accident involving an ambulance. It happened around 6 pm at the intersection of Laurens Street and University Parkway.
Officers on the scene say the ambulance was running its lights and responding to a call when it slowed down to cross an intersection. An SUV on Laurens Street had the green light and continued into the intersection, hitting the ambulance.
A third, stationary car was also hit.
Three passengers in the SUV and the passenger in the ambulance were all taken to the hospital with injuries.
