AUGUSTA---A News 12 investigation uncovers a plan to demote Augusta's Animal Services Director. The move comes after an employee is fired for allegations of sexual harassment.
We got our hands on a 3 page complaint against animal services worker Bruce McClure.
He is accused of sexually harassing 3 female employees. In at least one case he seems to offer as much as $300 for sex. The Equal Employment Opportunity Office launched an investigation.
The report says McClure admitted to having sexually explicit pictures of a female employee on his personal cell phone. This isn't the first time Bruce has run into trouble. Back in 2004 he allegedly sent emails of a "sexual nature" from his work email address.
Bruce is also accused of exposing himself at work. In 2005 a worker filed a sexual harassment complaint. In 2006 came another harassment complaint. Bruce was fired just weeks ago. The EEO report recommends "severe discipline" for animal services director Diane Downs.
A source tells News 12 the city administrator is expected to recommend demotion. That demotion would amount to a 15 percent pay cut. Downs would not be allowed to serve in any supervisory position.
