Richmond County School Budget
The Richmond County Scholl Budget has been finalized, and it will come at a cost to taxpayers.
In order to make the new $249 million budget work, the millage rate will have to increase to 18.782 mills.
So, if you own a $100,000 home, that will be an increase of $5.82 on your property taxes.
Board members will meet again on the 28th at 4:00 to adopt the final budget.

Candidates in Town
Board member Alex Howard tells News 12, two of the candidates for the superintendent position will be in town today for another interview.
Dr. Shirley Carraway and Dr. Dana Bedden are Augusta right now.
Howard also says Dr. Susan Clark will be in town Monday for her follow-up interview.

Road Face-lift
Pennies could make a big difference on Richmond County's roads.
$140,000 dollars of penny sales tax money is up for approval in Atlanta to pay for resurfacing several roads with cracks and potholes.
There are 58 roads listed that total nine miles.
The majority of them are in the downtown area.

Time to Care Fan Drive
This morning, News 12 is asking for your to give back to the community.
Our Time to Care Fan Drive is today.
We're looking for fan donations, bottled water, and money to help out the less fortunate.
It starts today at the Lowe's in North Augusta 11am and ends at 7pm.

Aiken's Cookin'
You can enjoy some summer fun and good food today at Aiken's Cookin' event.
Aiken's celebrity chefs will be whipping up some tasty treats at the Rye Patch tonight.
It starts at 7:00 and ends at 9:00.
There will also be a silent auction.
All the money raised goes to the Mental Health Association in Aiken County.
