GROVETOWN -- "OH MY GOD! OH JESUS!"
Felicia Sullivan's reaction is all you need to know. What she saw is more than a new Christmas toy.
"I'm a single parent, I work two jobs," she said.
Felicia works six days a week. When she works both jobs on Saturdays -- she's forced to walk between shifts. Jessica and Kashod are forced to find rides to school. The only day Felicia doesn't work: Sundays, of course, for church.
"We haven't been going to church for a long time and that's what's going to help us," said Felicia's daughter Jessica.
But now that's over. Grovetown's Eagle Paint and Body handed her the keys to a 1999 Honda Accord.
"A lot of people have been helping us since we got our own place, it's just very exciting to see the car," Kashod, Felicia's son, said.
Owner Brooks Whitmire decided there was a better option than selling the car -- fixing it up with help from the crew -- and giving it to a family that's been through what he has.
"I can remember waking up at Christmas, not having anything, something to eat, no toys," he said.
Adds Sullivan: "It's tough and sometimes we find ourselves without, but as long as we have a roof over our head and food to eat, we are all right, my kids understand."
A sale Brooks didn't mind not making.
"I've always been, you know I don't need much, especially now. I'd rather give. I think everybody here feels the same way," adds Whitmire.
