MESENA, Ga.---A Warren County man is accused of shooting and killing his own wife. It happened at the couple's home off West Reese Road in Mesena, Ga., just outside of Thomson.

According to the police reports, 9-1-1 dispatchers got a frantic phone call from a 17-year-old saying her mother had been shot. Her father 44-year-old Willie Hudson Junior was the gunman. "She was there and was a witness to the crime, she also had her six-month-old child with her," said GBI Special Agent, Gary Nicholson. The teen told deputies her parents had been fighting when she heard a gunshot from the master bedroom and heard her mother, Janice Hudson, scream. "It was a domestic situation," he said.

But when the 17-year-old went to find out what happened, she found her mother lying in a pool of blood. That's when the teen says her father shoved her, and made her fall on her seven-month-old baby. The police report goes on to say the teenager then picked up the murder weapon and turned it on her father. "I can't go into details of the investigation, obviously it's still ongoing, right now no one else has been charged except the husband," Nicholson said.

Janice Hudson was taken to the Mcduffie Regional Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. She was shot once in the chest with a 12-gauge shotgun. Willie Hudson Jr. was shot once in the neck and then flown to MCG where he was treated and released on Tuesday.

The Warren County Sheriff, Joe Peebles tells News 12 they hope the case will reach a grand jury by mid-July.
