AIKEN, S.C.---The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office has charged an inmate with smuggling drugs into the Aiken County Detention Center, 435 Wire Road, Aiken, South Carolina.

Jessica D. Gregory, 24, 118 Whaley Street, Warrenville, South Carolina, is charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine and Possession With Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine.

On June 2, ACSO developed information the subject was in possession of crack cocaine. An ACSO deputy, aided by a canine, searched the inmate living areas and discovered two plastic bags of crack cocaine.

“We believe this individual placed the drugs inside her body and smuggled them into the detention center,” said Sheriff Michael Hunt.

The Aiken Department of Public Safety arrested the individual on May 27 for Malicious Injury to Real Property and Disorderly Conduct.
