Local Update - May 31, 2007

ATV Crash
A Warren County father is behind bars this morning after his two-year-old son is ejected from his ATV. Twenty-eight-year-old Casey Germaine Walker is charged with DUI and child endangerment. Police say he crashed his four wheeler Sunday. The toddler is recovering at MCG.

Local Students and Teachers on TB Flight
This morning, health experts are looking for dozens of people who were on international flights with a man with a rare form of tuberculosis. We found 31 of them in Aiken; 28 are USC-Aiken students two are faculty members and another is a spouse. The students were traveling to Europe for a trip with the International Business program at the school.

Bald Bandits Strike Again
The search is on after the so-called bald bandits strike again. The latest hit was at the Family Dollar on Wrightsboro Road Wednesday morning, the 12th in a string of robberies. The reward for information leading to an arrest is now up to $5,000.

Golf Hall of Fame Money Woes
The Georgia Golf Hall of Fame looks like it's getting closer and closer to closing its gates. Governor Sonny Perdue vetoed part of the budget for the Augusta attraction.
If funds don't come through soon, workers say they'll have to shut down.

Community Forum Tonight
Augusta Mayor Deke Copenhaver is looking forward to hearing from you today. He's hosting another community forum tonight at the Augusta Aquatics Center from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Today's Graduation Schedule
Glenn Hills is first at 9 a.m. this morning, followed by students from T.W. Josey at 11 a.m. Then Lucy C. Laney is up after that at 1:30 p.m. A.R. Johnson marches at 3:30 p.m.
Hephzibah High finishes up the day at 5:30 p.m. Aiken County schools will finish up their last day today.
