AUGUSTA, Ga.---Officers in Richmond, Columbia, and Aiken counties are still searching for a man they say robbed eight convenience stores over the last two weeks, and tried to rob a bank today.

Investigators say this suspect was responsible for an attempted robbery at the Regions bank at 1219 Augusta West Parkway. That's just off Wheeler Road near Hillcreek Drive.

A man demanded money from a teller shortly after 10 o'clock this morning, but didn't get away with any.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 25 years old, 5'10" tall and 185 pounds, with brown hair. He was wearing a black ball cap and a white polo shirt.

Agent Ed Reinhold with the FBI says the suspect is the same man wanted in seven other robberies around the CSRA.

"I don't think he's doing it to be malicious," Reinhold said. "I think he needs the money."

The sheriff's office is following leads and looking at the suspect's patterns. In some cases he's been armed. During the Regions bank robbery, he was not. Officers have no definite getaway vehicle description.

If you have any information, call Richmond, Columbia, or Aiken County authorities.
