Aiken Co., SC---The school year is coming to a sad end at North Augusta high school.
An early morning crash killed 16-year-old Andrew House.
The junior was pronounced dead this morning after his truck collided with a bridge support under the 125 overpass in Beech Island.
"He was just a nice guy all around," said Augusta Christian student, Ashley Hart of House.
The Aiken County Coroner, Tim Carlton, says House was heading east on Highway 278 when his 1999 Dodge Ram slammed into the column under the bridge.
The truck immediately caught on fire after the collision.
"It's heartbreaking," said Keith Walton, Augusta Christian assistant football coach.
"The situation could never even have happened if he'd taken the necessary precautions," he said.
The Aiken County coroner says House was speeding down Highway 278 and was dead before the fire broke out.
Investigators are now trying to find out why house was out on the road at 4 a.m.
House is now the 18th person to die in a traffic crash in Aiken County this year.
