TRENTON, SC---A fire destroys everything and leaves an Edgefield County family without a home.
It happened around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday on Rolling Hills Drive in Trenton.
When the Richardson family got home on Saturday night their house was in a billow of smoke.
It took three different fire companies a little more than an hour to finally put out the blaze because on Rolling Hills Dr. there are no fire hydrants nearby.
"We live so far out here it was more fire than what their trucks had water for," said Jay Richardson, the homeowner.
It was so bad he says at one point firefighters were sucked dry of their only weapon leaving them helpless to battle the blaze.
"Everything I've ever worked for is gone," said Richardson.
Merriweather, Belvedere and the County Line fire departments all responded to the blaze last night.
Firefighters believe the believe the fire started in the laundry room of the mobile home.
If you'd like to help the Richardson family there will be an account set up under their name at the SRP Federal Credit Union.
