HARLEM, Ga --- If you're looking for something outside of the major retail stores for your Christmas shopping - a new local store in Harlem may be just what you are looking for. It's called Etc - and everything inside is made by local people. This will be the first Christmas shopping season for Etc - and they hope the local charm of what they sell will appeal to area shoppers.
From handcrafted pottery, to massive paintings, quilts, toys, even birdhouses made from recycled bleachers from local schools. The store is the brainchild of Ann Blaylock. More than a dozen local artists contribute to what they sell, and the inventory changes weekly, as new items are added.
ETC of Harlem is located in downtown, just before the railroad tracks, right off the main road. For the first time ever, they are open for the Black Friday shopping holiday.
