GRANITEVILLE, S.C.---There are new jobs coming to Aiken County.

BAE systems will expand its facilities into the old Avondale distribution center at the Sage Mill Industrial Park in Graniteville.

BAE has several contracts with the Department of Defense. They will start out manufacturing a vehicle designed to defeat roadside bombs and small arms fire.

"We are proud to make product for soldiers," said Aiken BAE plant manager Mike Eaton. "South Carolina is great to support this type of manufacturer."

The company already employs around 250 people at their site in the Verenes Industrial Park.
