WAGENER, S.C.---A 15-year-old Salley teenager was ordered to remain in the custody of the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice by the Aiken County Family Court.
She appeared at court today for a detention hearing after her arrest by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office for making threats at Wagener-Salley High School, in Wagener, South Carolina.
The teenager is charged with Threatening a School Official (two counts). She will remain in custody until another detention hearing is held. No date has yet been set.
“We have a zero tolerance policy regarding any behavior that disrupts the safe learning environment of our schools, so students should be mindful of making such threats,” said Sheriff Michael Hunt.
An ACSO school resource deputy arrested the student Tuesday morning at her home.
On Monday, the student, during several classes, stated her intent to carry out acts of violence at the school.
