Georgia soldier killed in Iraq
A soldier from Sparks, Georgia was killed November 22, 2009 while supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

A soldier from Sparks, Georgia was killed November 22, 2009 while supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
SSG Briand T. Williams, 25 years old, died from wounds he suffered when his unit was attacked by insurgents using small arms.
According to the Department of Defense, SSG Williams was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Georgia.
According to the Fort Benning Public Affairs Office, SSG Williams joined the army in June 2002 and the 3rd Brigade in September of 2007. He had had three previous deployments.
