AUGUSTA, Ga.---Two juveniles have been charged in a south Augusta fire.
Crews spent the morning fighting the flames at a home on Cherry Road, behind Southgate, at the intersection of Deans Bridge and Gordon Highway. Neighbors say the house was abandoned.
Witnesses say they saw the two suspects leaving the scene.
A house fire that happened in Hephzibah yesterday morning at around 4 o'clock is also under investigation and has been ruled an arson. A couple escaped that fire through a window.
Firefighters say they found containers with gasoline in several of the rooms with candles near them. Lt. GB Hannan says the fire was started at the front door by flammable liquid, possibly gasoline.
There are no suspects in that fire at this time.
