Couple allegedly kidnapped for ATM money

April 18, 2007

AUGUSTA, Ga.---Investigators are looking into claims from a couple who says they were taken at gunpoint at Augusta's Riverwalk.

The teenagers say they were getting into their car on Fifth Street around 10:30 last night when three men approached them with a sawed off shotgun.

They say the men made them drive to several ATMs.

When they were not able to get money, the suspects took them to a North Augusta house and stole a CD player and other things from the car.

Investigators are hoping surveillance video will give them more details and help identify the suspects.
