A South Carolina Senate panel is looking to soften a proposed abortion law.
Last month, the House passed a plan to require doctors to show an ultrasound to women seeking an abortion.
The Senate panel voted today to give women the option of viewing the pictures. That puts South Carolina more in line with what other states have done.
The amendment now goes before the full Senate for approval.
