AUGUSTA, Ga.---The Imperial Theatre's board of directors has voted to terminate Lara Plocha, the theater's executive director.
Board president Paul Brewer cited performance issues.
Plocha has been on paid leave since March for family reasons.
An audit of the theater's books is underway, but the board says that is routine when an employee at that level is fired.
A search committee for a new executive director has been formed. Brewer tells News 12 Plocha was the executive director for two and a half to three years. Previously she was an assistant to the previous holder of that position, Greg Goodwin.
Charles Scavullo has been serving as interim director since Plocha was placed on leave, and he will continue to do so.
