An ultimate consumer guide is available for anyone who wants to do -- just about anything.
It's called the 2009 Consumer Action Handbook and is produced by the General Services Administration. But the book gets pretty specific. The table of contents includes what to watch out for when buying a car, choosing the right doctor, avoiding scams, and many other things you may do everyday.
It's free and is available by going to the GSA's website, linked below.
The book also includes legal advice and a listing of many agencies you'll need in case you have to file a complaint.
There's also some scam alerts that tell you what to watch out for when conducting business, like choosing a credit card, insurance, or finding a job.
There's also info about nutrition, paying for college, and protecting yourself from identity theft.
