Deputy recovering after wreck

A Richmond County deputy is recovering after he wrecked his patrol car in Burke County on the way to work this morning.

24-year-old Eric Sikes lives just over the county line and was on his way to the North Precinct Road Patrol when he went off Allen Road and ended up between some trees.

He went to the Burke County hospital, and was airlifted to MCG.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating.
