Aiken County home search uncovers five explosives

Five homemade explosives were discovered during a search of a home on Melody Lane in North Augusta.

At 10:45 a.m., 52-year-old Henry Shultz, Jr. gave investigators and agents of the Aiken County Sheriff's Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and SLED permission to search his home. An amount of marijuana and the five explosives were found underneath a bed.

SLED disposed of the explosives at a nearby site.

Shultz is currently charged with simple possession of marijuana.
