AUGUSTA, Ga.---19-year-old Emmanuel Demmons is considered armed and dangerous and is believed to be carrying at least two different weapons. Now police need your help finding him so he doesn't shoot again.

Gunfire erupted in the Harrisburg area on Sunday (February 25), and the chase ended right in front of a playground, just feet away from the boys and girls club.

Witnesses say they saw Demmons chasing the victim down the road.

"He looked like he was going to run into the wall, trying to get away from him and to jump over the bricks to get away," said witness Yvette Smith.

Investigators say it started as an argument at a club the night before. When the two ran into each other on Sunday near the Family Dollar store on Broad Street, they continued the unfinished fight...this time with a gun.

Authorities say Demmons fired at least five or six rounds, and three of those bullets hit Dominuque Ellis from behind as he was trying to run.

Investigators say the victim continued to run another 125 yards before he finally collapsed in front of the playground, where he lay helplessly staring down the barrel of a gun.

"He probably had every intention of firing again," Sgt. Richard Roundtree told News 12. "Fortunately a witness saw it and yelled at the suspect and he fled on foot. That witness probably saved his life."

That's what has investigators concerned...especially because they say this isn't the first time he's pulled the trigger, and they fear it won't be his last.

One mother says she knows because her son was shot at almost two years ago by the same man.

"He shot my son, and last summer he shot another guy in the eye," she said.

We're told Demmons was arrested back in June of 2005 and charged for the shooting of her son, but those charges were later dropped by a grand jury. He's also believed to have been involved in a shooting last year on Broad Street in which a victim was shot in the eye.

If you have any information, you are asked to call the sheriff's office.

Investigators say Demmons has an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court and is now wanted for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during a crime.

Deputies say there is a significant amount of crime in the Harrisburg neighborhood.

The young man who, according to his mother, was shot by Demmons was killed in December in a different shooting at the Mom & Pop's store in that part of town. Deputies have arrested a different suspect in that crime.

Also recently, there was a big meth bust on Battle Row in September and a drive-by shooting death in August in which several people were arrested. There has been a number of shootings in the area.
