Fatal accident in Aiken County
One person is dead after a fatal accident in Aiken County.
It happened just after 5:00 this morning at Banksmill Road and Telatha Church Road.
No word on the cause yet.
Man may be paralyzed after being shot by friend
One man is in the hospital and another behind bars after a police say a man shot his best friend in the head.
58-year-old Henry Williams is in the Richmond County Jail, charged with shooting his neighbor Wilburt Fuller Friday night.
It happened after 7 o'clock at Williams' mobile home in Blythe.
Family members say the men were alone together, and the suspect brought out his deceased brother's gun.
His family says he did not know the gun was loaded until it was too late.
Williams is charged with aggravated assault.
Friends of the victim say he is at MCG on life support and may be paralyzed from the shooting.
Shooting follows argument
In Dearing, an argument led to another shooting.
Investigators say a 16-year-old boy shot 20-year-old Chad Cooper once in the chest.
It happened Friday (February 2) around 5:30.
The shooting followed some sort of argument at the victim's home on Adams Chapel Road.
Cooper was released from MCG Saturday.
Bus driver improving after Friday shooting
A North Augusta bus driver continues to fight for her life after her bus route took a dangerous turn.
Police say 69-year-old Booker McKenney shot 55-year-old Beryl Kinsey around 6:45 Friday morning.
It happened right behind North Augusta Middle School.
The two had been involved in a close personal relationship.
Officers also say McKenney was on the bus waiting for Kinsey when he shot her four times.
Police traced a call from the suspect to someone at the school and arrested McKenney in Johnston around 10:30 Friday morning.
Det. Tim Thornton with North Augusta Public Safety says Kinsey's condition has vastly improved as of this morning. He tells News 12 that she is "alert, talking, writing", and that the prognosis is good.
Det. Thornton also says McKenney's bond has been set at $50,000.
Wachovia inside Deans Bridge Kroger robbed
Richmond County investigators need your help finding an armed robber.
They say a man robbed the Wachovia bank inside the Kroger on Deans Bridge Road Friday around 5 o'clock.
Deputies say the man stood in line at the bank, and when he got to the teller, he handed her a note saying "This is a robbery."
The note also said he had a gun, but he never showed it.
He was last seen running into the woods behind that grocery store.
Burke County drug bust
A lot of drugs and one criminal are off the streets in Burke County this morning.
Sezumer Palmer was arrested when police found more than 2 kilos of cocaine, 2 guns, and $54,000 in cash at his home.
He lives at 402 Terrell 4th road in Keysville.
The investigation was a joint effort between the Burke County Sheriff's Office the GBI, the DEA, Richmond County's Drug Task Force and K-9 unit, and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
Palmer is charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Federal charges will likely follow as well.
