U.S. Airways drops Delta hostile takeover bid

Delta Airlines will remain an independent company.

U.S. Airways has just dropped its hostile takeover bid for Delta after Delta's creditor committee said they will support Delta's plan to get out of bankruptcy by themselves.

They hope to do that by the middle of this year.

U.S. Airways was offering more than $10 billion to take over Atlanta-based Delta.
