Update: Assault victim dies overnight
The victim of an assault in Jefferson County has passed away according to the Jefferson County coroner.

WADLEY Ga.-- According to the Jefferson County coroner's office, Janice Williams, who was assaulted yesterday at her home in Wadley, has passed away. They received the call at approximately 11:30 p.m.
The GBI is investigating this case and are calling it a homicide.
No arrests have been made.
