Several morning accidents across the area

There were several accidents across the area this morning.

The latest is a wreck on Hereford Farm Road, right in front of Evans Middle School.

There was also an accident also on Cox Road in front of Evans High School.

Someone was injured in an accident right in front the Burger King on Belair Road at I-20, causing traffic delays.

Crews are cleaning up the scene.

No word on what caused these wrecks this morning.

Cold morning brought sleet to the area

Some sleet coated cars along Martintown Road here in North Augusta.

That seemed to be a familiar sight around the area.

Closings and delays

Here's what you need to know this morning about the freezing weather.

All Aiken County schools are on a three hour delay this morning. That includes Aiken Prep and Second Baptist Christian Prep School in Aiken.

Edgefield, Saluda, Barnwell, McCormick and County schools are on a two hour delay, and so are Fox Creek High School, Williston, and Blackville.

Aiken Technical College classes will start at 11.

County crews prepared for winter weather

Crews are prepared this morning in Richmond and Columbia counties should the weather get worse today.

Columbia County's Roads and Bridges Department is making sure salt and gravel is ready to cover bridges and overpasses for your morning commute.

It's a similar scene at Richmond County's Maintenance Department.

Both say they'll be ready if things get rough.
