Gloverville 8-year-old injured in shooting

GLOVERVILLE, S.C.---An 8 year old boy is recovering in the hospital from a gunshot wound. The boy was shot in the abdomen by another child Friday.

Police say more than six children between the ages of four and 12 were in the front yard of 125 Wayland Street in Gloverville playing with three 22-caliber rifles. There was no adult supervision at the time of the shooting.

The boy, whose name was not released, has undergone surgery, but there is no word on his condition. We do know that the boy did not live at the Wayland Street home.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
