AUGUSTA---You may not notice at first when you walk in to the Comfort Inn and Suites on Gordon Highway, but Eco technology is all around you. This newly constructed hotel features, according to owners, the latest energy saving technology available.
Some of the main features include:
-Geothermal air conditioning
-Solar heated water
-CF lights (Compact Fluorescent)
-Bio-safe laundry cleaner
-Automated in-room air conditioning sensors
-Water conservation program
The hotel has been open since April of this year. An official ribbon-cutting will be held Friday morning to celebrate an official grand opening. Hotel owners say they designed the unique building to bring this new technology specifically to the south Augusta area. Customers will see an average room rate of about 70 dollars per night (according to the hotel's website). That rate is less expensive than other hotels in the immediate area.
