AIKEN, S.C.---An accident with an Aiken County deputy leaves two people recovering this morning.

It happened just before 11:30 last night near Whiskey Road and Partridge Bend Road. That's just about four miles south of Aiken.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol tells us two vehicles crashed at the intersection. The deputy's cruiser and a Pontiac are both beat up pretty badly.

From the damage in the video, it appears the deputy rear-ended the other car.

The deputy involved is Bradley Dyer and the other driver is Linda Macri of Aiken.

Both were taken to the hospital, but Highway Patrol says they don't believe their injuries are serious at this time.

The accident is still under investigation, and Highway Patrol says they'll pass along any new information as soon as they get it.
