A local girl may never see Santa the same.

Authorities say 55-year-old John Barton of Batesburg told the 8-year-old to look at Rudolph in his motorcycle.

This all happened Sunday at a convenience store off I-20 near Columbia.

Her father, Tripp Morris, came to her rescue after chasing Barton at 80 miles per hour.

Morris confronted him in a parking lot, taking his daughter back.

"I hear the motorcycle crank up and I'm like, 'Oh, that's pretty loud.' And the next thing I know my wife's hollering, 'Tripp, go get him. Go get him. They've taken our daughter.'"

Barton is being held in the Lexington County Jail.

He's charged with kidnapping and bond is set at $100,000.
