Burke County inmate walks away from detail

BURKE CTY, Ga.---An inmate in Burke County walked away from a work detail this morning and the sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s assistance.
Jerry Lee Jones is a 44 year old black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 135 pounds. He was last wearing a white shirt and pants and “Burke County Sheriff’s Office” is on the back of the shirt.
Jones was arrested in July of 2008 on charges of theft by bringing stolen property into the state (motor vehicle), terroristic threats and acts, obstructing/hindering a law enforcement officer, DUI and other charges.
