Allendale sheriff says police didn't act fast enough
It's been almost two weeks since a missing Allendale teenager was last seen. Now the sheriff says the city police department may not have acted fast enough.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children arrived in Allendale Friday to follow up on the investigation.
Sheriff Tom Carter says 17-year-old Erica Bradley disappeared on November 6, but when the Allendale Police Department learned of it two days later, they should have done more.
"I think it was a bad judgment call to sit on it and not to do anything then," Sheriff Carter said.
"You don't just drag your feet," said Erica's grandmother, Annie Ruth Wright. "You got to move, and involve other law enforcement."
Sheriff Carter tells News 12 that on Saturday, for the first time, a helicopter was brought in to help with the search.
