12-year-old in custody for Riverside bomb threat

Capt. Steve Morris of the Columbia County Sheriff's Office tells News 12 a 12-year-old Riverside Middle School student is in custody, accused of calling in a bomb threat at the school yesterday.

Riverside Middle was a polling location for the General Election; as a result of the threat, the location stayed open at least 20 extra minutes to allow residents ample time to vote.

The student is being held at the Youth Detention Center pending a hearing.
