Man who shot at golfer's car during Masters sentenced

October 25, 2006

The man accused of shooting at a golfer's car during Masters Week has been sentenced.

26-year-old Troy Smith pleaded guilty to 3 counts of aggravated assault for shooting at two vehicles last spring.

He was sentenced to 5 years in jail and 5 years probation, and ordered to pay $3000 in fines.

Tom Lehman's courtesy car was hit by a bullet during Masters 2006. He was not injured.

Troy Smith's attorney blamed the incidents on Smith's drinking and not taking medication.
