GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities have filed a murder charge against the driver of a sports car that crashed into a Greenville home, killing a man watching television inside.
The Greenville News reports that 36-year-old John Ludwig Junior was arrested without incident Wednesday morning.
In filing the murder charge, prosecutor Bob Ariail claimed that Ludwig was driving his Maserati at least 85 mph when the car left the road and slammed into the house.
The accident killed 62-year-old Frederic William Bardsley. Ludwig suffered minor injuries.
Ludwig's lawyer, Billy Wilkins, has said his client is devastated by what happened.

Ludwig was arrested at his parent's home in Lincolnton, Georgia Wednesday morning. He is the former CEO of SDI Networks, a Greenville-based technology company.
A magistrate judge ordered him held in Greenville under no bond. He will have a bond hearing later before a Circuit Court judge.
After the accident, drug and alcohol tests were not performed on Ludwig because there was no indication he was impaired. Under present South Carolina law, such tests are not mandatory.
