The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an Aiken teenager, who is suspected of making a bomb threat by placing a hand-written note in a classroom at Silver Bluff High School in Aiken on Monday.
Melvin J. McLeod, 17, is charged with Conveying False Information Regarding Attempted Use of a Destructive Device.
ACSO investigators arrested the 12th grader this morning during second period at SBHS.
Conveying False Information Regarding Attempted Use of a Destructive Device is a felony. A conviction for a first offense carries a prison term of one to 10 years.
McLeod is being held on $10,000 bond at the Aiken County Detention Center.
