Sexual assault charges against former Aiken County councilman changed

A former Aiken County councilman is headed to trial.
47-year-old William Ferrara is accused of fondling a 23-year-old woman and asking for sex in exchange for rent.
He was arrested in July and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, solicitation of prostitution, and two counts of indecent exposure and disseminating obscenities.
The charges of indecent exposure have been lessened to exposure of private parts in a lewd manner, and the charges of disseminating obscenities have been dropped.
Ferrara still has a pending lewd act charge from last year when he was accused of fondling a 13-year-old girl.
