GROVETOWN, Ga.---The alleged pimping was going on in what neighbors call a quiet Grovetown neighborhood, where people generally keep to themselves. But now many are taking a closer look at who's living next to them.

It was in a Grovetown house where Investigators say Staff Sergeant Patrick Campbell was advertising women on the Internet and arranging for them to meet for sex.

"It seems weird out here in Grovetown, it's just real quiet out here," says neighbor Philip Lord.

Investigators say the pimping and pandering was happening on this popular website. Craigslist.com. Just a few clicks and at your fingertips are dozens of personal ads.

"It's not really on the streets anymore. It's over the Internet it's more of a private thing where you can't openly get caught or be seen doing it. It's more behind closed doors," says neighbor Jordan Little.

Now Sergeant Campbell's neighbors are second guessing the people who live around them.

"You never really know who you're living next to and there's a lot of creeps in this world running around," says neighbor Lord.

Fort Gordon has Sergeant Campbell listed as an Automated Logistics Specialist with the 513th Military Intelligence Brigade. They say he served in Afghanistan from November 2007 to June 2008.

"It's kinda scary too to know someone like that can be that close to you and you never know what people will do or whats on heir minds or anything these days," says Little.

Investigators took Sergeant Campbell's computers and bank records from his home as evidence. They hope the evidence will lead them to others who may be involved.

"Kinda makes you wonder what else is going on or what other kind of people are around you," says Little.

Both counts of pimping and pandering are misdemeanor charges.

Several agencies were involved in the arrest on Thursday. Columbia County and Richmond County Sheriff's Offices, Fort Gordon's Criminal Investigation Division and Grovetown Department of Public Safety were all involved.

Sergeant Campbell has bonded out of the Columbia County Detention Center. He was released on a $4,200 bond.
