News 12 has confirmed two people have been found dead in the small town of Bartow on Highway 221, south of Louisville.
Two people have been shot and killed in what appears to be a domestic dispute in Bartow. The GBI crime truck is still on the scene along with Jefferson County sheriffs.
One of the victims was separated from her husband and living with her mother, the second victim. The two women apparently returned to the home to retrieve some belongings when the husband was expected to be at work, but he was home at the time.
A witness says he saw the husband holding the mother-in-law in a choke hold with a gun to her head, and then saw him shoot her. He later heard three more shots. Afterwards, police found the man's wife also dead.
The husband tried to escape from police, who ultimately ran his vehicle off the road into a ditch and arrested him.
