Aiken County BOE hears from public in first of series of budget meetings
The Aiken County School Board met on Monday night for another round of talks on budget cuts.This time, the board received input from the public at one of the many open forums the school board is hosting throughout Aiken County.

AIKEN, S.C. -- The Aiken County School Board met on Monday night for another round of talks on budget cuts.This time, the board received input from the public at one of the many open forums the school board is hosting throughout Aiken County.

Board members heard from current and former students, parents, teachers and concerned community members. The focus revolved mainly around cutting athletics, teachers and the I-B Program. The board will not make its final cuts until the budget is rolled out in June.

In case parents and concerned citizens were not able to attend Monday's meeting, there are four more meetings scheduled.

The dates are:
March 10- South Aiken High 5:30pm-6:30pm Auditorium
March 12- Midland Valley High 6pm-7pm Auditorium
March 16- Ridge Spring-Monetta High 6pm-7pm Cafeteria
March 17- Silver Bluff High 5:30pm-6:30pm Media Center
