5 injured when car hits school bus
A school bus, with one child aboard, collided with a car near Joseph Lamar Elementary. The car ended up going partially under the bus near St. Ignatius of Antioch Melkite Church.

AUGUSTA, Ga.---A wreck Wednesday morning in Augusta blocked one intersection for awhile.
It happened at Howard Avenue and Merry Streets, near Joseph Lamar Elementary School. A school bus, one child aboard, collided with
a car. The car ended up going partially under the bus and into yard at t St. Ignatius of Antioch Melkite Church.
The school district spokesman said the bus driver and child on board were taken to hospitals and checked out. The car contained three students at Academy of Richmond County. The driver was trapped in the wreckage for awhile, and all three were taken to the hospital for treatment. School district spokesman Louis Svehla said preliminary indications are that the car driver ran a stop sign.
