The Georgia attorney general's office hosted a public hearing today on the proposal to sell St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta.
News 12 has also learned that the name of the hospital could soon change.
The Sisters of Saint Joseph have made a decision to drop the longtime name if the hospital is sold to Triad Inc., which is a for-profit organization.
The Sisters of St. Joseph sponsor Ascension Health, which is the nation's largest Catholic non-profit health system and the hospital's present owner.
