Some roads in the area were icy this morning due to sprinkler systems being left on.

Richmond County Public Works says they didn't see much trouble thanks to most sprinkler systems being shut off. However, Columbia County had numerous problems, including in several places on Washington Road. Government Center Way and Ronald Reagan Way actually had to be closed for salting.

In Aiken County, there was ice on Knox Avenue at the Walmart/Walgreens intersection and on Martintown Road at Observatory Ave.

The cold, wintry weather also caused a school delay. The USC Salkehatchie campuses in Allendale and Walterboro were on a delayed schedule. Faculty and staff reported in at 10 am and classes began at 11.
