Former SRS employee jailed for child pornography

August 30, 2006

A former employee at Savannah River Site is heading to jail.

A judge sentenced Vincent V. Labon of Martinez to 21 months in prison. That will be followed by two years of supervised release.

SRS officials discovered Labon had visited web sites with child pornography from a work laptop.

Officials found about 35 images of teenage girls, along with some pornographic cartoons.

SRS officials found that Labon had installed unauthorized software that eliminated evidence that he had visited the porn sites.
