AIKEN COUNTY, SC---An early morning single car crash leaves a Ridge Spring, South Carolina man dead.
46-year-old Dwayne Ligons was pronounced dead at the scene, near Vaucluse, South Carolina around 5:12 this morning by Deputy Coroner L. Bowling.
Ligons was traveling north on Highway 191 when he left the roadway and struck a small bridge, head-on, near the Vaucluse Mill. He was the only person in the 1970 GMC pick up truck.
Ligons was not wearing a seatbelt.
When his car hit the bridge, Ligons' truck spun across the the southbound lane, eventually returning to the northbound lane.
He died as a result of multiple body trauma.
Alcohol is considered to be a factor in this crash. The Coroner's Office and the SCHP are investigating the crash.
