AUGUSTA--Everything but the kitchen sink. That's what the leaders of Rosa T. Beard Debutante House say was stolen in an over-night break-in.

Group leaders say they're doing everything in their power to make sure this break-in doesn't turn into a break-down for the Debutantes.

The house known for putting young ladies on the right track in life. But now, it's a house in shambles. Broken glass litters the side serving as a sharp reminder of a big loss.

"The house was ransacked." said Sandra Wimberly, Director of the Rosa T. Beard Debutante House.

A house that has nothing left in it.

"When I told you they took everything. They took everything. They took the refrigerator, the stove, a china cabinet." she told us.

They even tried to take the kitchen sink.

"I surmise they were going to come back and get it." she said.

We couldn't go inside, but it appears, the thieves used a side windows to go in to do their work.

But that is not all the damage the burglars did. They also kicked out several slats on the fence. Just another thing to fix after this crime.

The Rosa T. Beard Debutante House has been serving young ladies since 1963. They are known for helping out and giving back. Whether it's Toys for Tots or collecting food for the hungry. But with their house in a mess now, that good work will be much harder to accomplish.

"We cannot use this house today to do that for Christmas. That's what hurts the most." Sandra said.

The Debutantes do have insurance that should cover most of the stuff, but there is a lot of cleaning up and fixing to do still. If you want to help, please call Sandra Wimberly at 706 945 0476.
