AUGUSTA, Ga.---Women in or about to enter the working world, there's an event just for you. It's the annual Women in Business event, meant to inspire working women.
The Augusta Chamber of Commerce and The United Way kicked everything off Friday with an intimate lunch and the event will continue throughout the night.
The guest speaker is Hala Moddelmog, the President and CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. She's a business woman with an inspirational message for all women out there.
"Life is short and you know when I have the breast cancer message and the business message, it's really about life being short and you want to do something that you love and that you can be passionate about and then your true best self shows and you're very successful," says Hala Moddelmog.
"She's going to be speaking to all women who have a desire and a passion to have a balanced career," says La Verne Gold, with The United Way of the CSRA.
"You can really be anything that you want to be. And I know there's a lot of talk about the lack of balance with family and career but I happen to think you can have it all. Don't sell yourself short. You can have a wonderful family and a husband and kids and have a great career," continues Hala Moddelmog.
"We do have challenges, women do have challenges, but I also see a lot of opportunities too. Those challenges don't prevent you from becoming who you want to be," adds La Verne Gold.
