Based on guidance from the U.S. Department of Energy about the interpretation of the testing rules for refrigerators, LG Electronics has changed the energy ratings on certain kinds of refrigerators. Specifically, this affects LG French Door models with an ice and water dispenser in the door.
If you purchased one of these models prior to November 14, 2008, the new measured energy rating of the refrigerator you purchased may be different from what was indicated on the original Energy Guide label and other materials at the time that you made the purchase. Therefore, you are eligible for a three-part consumer offer.
To check if your refrigerator is one of these models, go to http://www.lgrefrigeratoroffer.com/product-details.html to see photographs, descriptions and model numbers of the affected products.
If you purchased one of these refrigerators, LG is providing a three-part offer for consumers. This will involve both modifying your refrigerator and providing cash payments for additional energy usage. Go to http://www.lgrefrigeratoroffer.com/program-details.html for details about the three-part offer.
