Four-year-old boy dies in car wreck

An accident has taken the life of a 4-year-old boy.

It happened around 2 o'clock at 3873 East White Oak Road between Harlem and Appling.

Officers say 21-year-old Trista Jordan was driving a Toyota Camry heading west.

She ran off the road, pulled back on, but overcorrected and lost control.

The vehicle flipped over and her child, 4-year old Jervon Jordan, was thrown out and the vehicle landed on top of him.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the child was not restrained in a car seat.

The mother was not taken to the hospital. Charges against her are pending.
