A judge has issued a temporary restraining order against deputies in Columbia County.
Right now, they cannot force sex offenders to move from their homes.
Judge Clarence Cooper heard the case the morning of Friday, July 28.
He earlier ruled that the state could put a new law in place banning sex offenders from living within one thousand feet of designated school bus stops.
But when Columbia County deputies started putting people on the sex offender registry on alert, the Southern Center for Human Rights filed for the temporary restraining order.
